Privacy statement
How we handle personal information, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who is responsible
Recommence (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website, as defined by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Enquiries about this statement go to hello@recommence.co.za.
What we collect
Only what you send us. If you complete the enquiry form, that is your name, email address, optionally your company, the service you selected, and your message. If you contact us by WhatsApp or email, we hold that correspondence. We do not buy personal information, and we do not collect it from third parties.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry and, where it leads to work, to carry out that engagement. Our lawful basis is your consent when you submit the form, and the performance of a contract where one follows. We do not use your details for unrelated marketing.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts. Nothing you do here is profiled or shared with an advertising network.
Who processes it
Two third parties handle information on our behalf:
- Formspree receives and forwards enquiry form submissions.
- Calendly handles booking if you schedule a call.
Both process data on our instruction under their own privacy terms. Following a link to either takes you to a service governed by that provider's policy, not this one.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Enquiries are stored in our email and business systems, protected by access controls and encryption in transit. We keep enquiries that do not become work for 24 months, after which they are deleted. Records relating to an engagement are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and then for the period our legal and tax obligations require.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we have no lawful reason to keep it, or object to how we are using it. Email hello@recommence.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes
If this statement changes materially we will update the date below. Last updated: 28 August 2026.
